Oisin Michel joined us earlier this year as Site Manager of our Naas location. Only recently, has our Kildare native made the big jump to the city and now manages our Rathmines Urban Oasis. Ois does everything with a smile on his face, full of energy, and no matter the weather he can always be found in a pair of shorts.

How did you first get involved with Fad Saoil Saunas?

I first got involved with Fad Saoil when I was in the Connacht rugby academy in Galway. I reached out to Steve about creating an academy deal! From there we became good mates and here I am.

Can you tell us a bit about what your role involves day-to-day?

My day to day involves ensuring a smooth daily running of the sauna facility, overseeing staff scheduling, inventory, equipment, and overall facility standards. I maintain a clean, safe, and compliant environment while coordinating maintenance and addressing operational needs as they arise. The role also focuses on driving sales and guest engagement by following up on leads, supporting memberships and retail sales, and managing CRM data. Ongoing review and improvement of processes ensures an excellent community experience and consistent business performance.

What’s been the most rewarding part of working with Fad Saoil so far?

Seeing how regular sauna use can have a positive impact on people’s mental and physical wellbeing.

What’s one challenge you’ve enjoyed tackling since joining the team?

One of my biggest challenges was stepping outside my comfort zone by proactively engaging new companies and people to drive awareness and bring them into the sauna.

Do you have a go-to sauna routine or ritual?

Throughout the day it’s one round of 20 minutes in the sauna and a minute in the ice bath. I feel amazing after it and it gives me so much energy. If it’s late and I’m going to bed afterwards I’d do 2 or 3 rounds of sauna and ice bath. Makes me sleep super well.

How has working with Fad Saoil influenced your own approach to wellness?

Working with Fad Saoil has made me more intentional about my own wellness. Being around the sauna every day showed me how powerful simple habits like heat, rest, and slowing down can be for both body and mind.

What’s your favourite thing about the Fad Saoil sauna experience?

Meeting all sorts of people from different backgrounds. There’s always good chats going in the sauna.

Any top tip for first-time sauna users?

Listen to your body and embrace the unknown. You wont regret it.
